New Advice Site for Work at Home Moms

This is not an SEO or affiliate marketing related post per se, but it does touch on a topic that I’m often asked about at conferences, in emails and via my contact forms.

its A WAHM THINGMost of you know that in addition to owning several successful companies that focus on affiliate marketing and SEO, I’m also a mom of four awesome kids ages 14 to (almost) 5 months.

Since I primarily work from my home office (by choice), that also makes me a work at home mom (WAHM).

A question I’m asked very often? How the hell I find time to get everything done. From conference calls, to football practice, to site audits, to hosting sleepovers, to building affiliate websites, to middle of the night feedings, to managing our household, to spending time with my (awesome) husband – it can be a lot to handle.

I recently went on a girls weekend with Missy Ward and when the weather didn’t cooperate, we found ourselves huddled on our hotel balcony of the W South Beach discussing both of our experiences with working from home. Both of us talked about how we’d love to be able to help new WAHMs get started, current WAHMs make more (if that’s what they wanted) and seasoned work at home moms get a new idea or two.

We decided that if we pooled our resources, as well as our connections, to assemble a team of successful work at home moms to freely share their experiences, we might be able to do a lot of good in the WAHM community. And so, was conceived and today, the new advice site for work at home moms has launched – complete with a sweepstakes giving you a chance to win a 200 dollar Visa gift card to grab some extra holiday spending cash (or maybe help fund a new work at home business).

I hope it’s able to help some of the moms that have contacted me and the many work at home moms that follow me. Cheers – and I hope to see you over there!

Sugarrae runs on the Genesis Framework

Genesis Framework

If you’re someone who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Genesis will give a ton of functionality that you wouldn’t be able to obtain otherwise with a simple control panel instead of having to alter code. For the advanced, Genesis has incredible customization possibilities via Genesis hooks.

The theme is not only highly customizable, but it has allowed me to run Sugarrae more professionally, with a much more targeted focus on monetization than it ever has been able to achieve before.
